PEAPACK-GLADSTONE FIRST AID & RESCUE SQUAD INC.
The Peapack-Gladstone First Aid & Rescue Squad has been the primary provider for emergency ambulance service to Peapack & Gladstone Borough in Somerset County since 1935. Our 20 volunteers attend approximately 300 calls for service every year. Our members are certified as Emergency Medical Technicians by the New Jersey State Department of Health, a certification that gives us the knowledge to tend to all types of injuries and medical emergencies. Peapack-Gladstone First Aid & Rescue Squad is also licensed by New Jersey State Department of Health to provide a Basic Life Support service, meaning we are under the same clinical oversight, and follow the same regulations as hospital based ambulance services.
We provide this service from our station on St. Lukes Ave in Peapack. From there we operate our two ambulances as well as our 4-wheel drive off road rescue vehicle which gives us the capability to safely access patients who become ill or injured in areas not easily accessible from the road.
The squad is funded entirely by donations from residents and the local municipality- we do not bill for our services! We are a privately run, 501(c)(3) non-profit organization.
Peapack is fortunate to be in close proximity to some of the best hospitals in the country. Should our patients be suffering a serious medical condition or injuries, we receive assistance on the road side from Mobile Intensive Care Units staffed with paramedics from Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital or Atlantic Mobile Health.
We are very proud that we have been able to provide such a well equipped, high level of service, staffed entirely by volunteers, to the residents of Peapack and Gladstone for the past 89 years, and hope to provide it for at least the next 89 years.
Our mission is "to render such service to the public as will lessen suffering and help preserve life."
